October 2016 Favorites

October is a spooky month and though I may not have a monthly favorites full of horror movies and scary activities, I think I have some awesome stuff this month!

The Nightmare Before Christmas poster is property of Tim Burton and Touch Stone Pictures. I am making no particular claims about the movie, production company or any related content or company. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0107688/        It’s the Great Pumpkin, CHarlie Brown poster is propertyCharles M. Schulz. I am making no particular claims about the movie, production company or any related content or company. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0060550/

Starting off with my only two Halloween inspired favorites – It’s the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown! and The Nightmare Before Christmas. (And yes, controversial opinion, I do consider The Nightmare Before Christmas a Halloween movie! My reason being if you watch it at Halloween and the Christmas parts make you feel a bit Christmas-y then that’s okay, because December is just around the corner! But if you watch it at Christmas and it makes you feel Halloween-y then October is ten months away! You simply can’t watch something that is Halloween-y when Halloween is almost a year away! Do you see my logic?) Both movies are seasonal classics and a must watch every year!

The song I’ve been obsessed with this month has to be Bad 4 Us by Superfruit. Scott and Mitch are two parts of the grammy award winning acapella group Pentatonix and have recently brought out their first song as a duo and I’m so obsessed with it. I listen to it on repeat and the music video for it is so much fun! New music is coming from them in 2017 and I’m sure you’ll see their album on future list of my favorites really soon!

This month I’ve been watching a lot of Youtube videos by Mark Ferris. I had already seen a few of his videos, but recently I’ve pretty much made my way through his entire video archive and have been enjoying it so much! I think what I like about him is that he’s so funny and very relatable. His vlogs and his cooking videos are my favorite! Check him out!

Source  Community poster is the property Sony Pictures television, NBC and Yahoo! Screen. I am making no particular claims about the show, production company or any related content or company. http://www.nbc.com/community?nbc=1

My boyfriend and I have really gotten into Community.  Though we have watched seasons 1-4 before and loved them, we’re watching season five for the first time right now. The show is about a group of adults who attend a community college, and though it sounds boring it’s so entertaining. If you’re fans of popular shows like The Office and Modern Family, which both put a hilarious spin on very basic, every day life situations, then you’ll totally love Community! (P.s., it’s available on Netflx, which is awesome. No excuse not to check it out!)

I bought this very basic (fake) leather jacket from a thrift shop as part of my Halloween costume and I have fallen in love with it for every day wear! I haven’t had a leather style jacket in a long time. (Side story – I used to have one that I loved, but my drunk ass left it at a bar one night and it was never to be seen again! Seriously, who comes to a bar wearing a coat and leaves without it and doesn’t think twice about it? Silly me.) So when my Halloween costume this year required me to buy another one I made sure to choose something very basic and simple so I could throw it on over everything – which is pretty much what I’ve been doing!

The beauty item I’ve been reaching for this month is Revlon Satin eye shadow single in the shade 015 Shimmering Sienna. It’s a beautiful deep maroon colour and it’s utterly perfect for autumn! I usually pack a bit of it in the crease with a gold eye shadow look to deepen and add colour. I got it a long time a go so I can’t be sure of the price, but any similar colour would do the trick.

There you have it, my October faves! Let me know in the comments what your favorite was, and look forward to some Christmas-y picks next month!
